Compensation Data
- Base Salary: Starting @ $75K - $80K + (DOE, paid hourly/eligible for overtime)

Bromma Americas is currently seeking a Field Service Engineer/Technician that will support our North American customer base. We are looking for a self-motivated and customer focused team player to join our organization. As a Field Service Engineer, your primary role will be to provide hands-on technical support for Bromma equipment in the North American region.
In this role, you will travel regularly to port citites in the U.S. and Canada that operate using our equipment.  Somer international travel aside from Canada will be required, but will be limited.  This is a great opportunity to grow or join the exciting Ports and Terminals industry.  You will be a key part of our success in keeping the international flow of cargo moving.
As part of the Bromma team, you will be working within a customer centric organization that is focused on always exceeding the expectations of our customers.  You will regularly work and communicate with our Americas Sales Organization, Engineering Teams, and Product Support Specialists to resolve customer problems and communicate their individual needs back to the organization.  You will also work with our other offices and teams from around the globe.
This position is based out of the Bromma Americas headquarters in Durham, NC (Remote option available).  The office in NC is also our base of operations for our North American team.  We also have supporting locations for the region in Miami, FL; Ottawa, KS; and Charleston, SC.
Bromma Spreaders are a global product, and we are the industry's most experienced manufacturer of container spreaders and lifting equipment.  Since the 1960's, we have build thousands of fully automatic crane spreaders with an estimated 5000 units in operation globally.  Bromma has delivered spreaders to more than 500 terminals in over 90 countries on 6 continents.  Bromma spreaders are in use in 47 out of the top 50 ports worldwide. 
What are your key responsibilities:
- Start-up & Commissioning: Start-up and commissioning of new equipment
 - Customer Support & Team Collaboration: Maintain good communication with customers; perform classroom and hands-on training at customer sites; communicate with customers to determine equipment problems; relay design or functional problems identified in field operations to Engineering; relay information concerning customer needs or problems to Sales group and Product Support;
 - Maintenance & Repair: Coordinate and perform field service activities and after-sales projects; handle warranty related claims; install software upgrades and make needed programming changes at customer sites; program and test electronic equipment for spare parts or warranties; perform other related after-sales duties; complete required internal and external reporting
 - Compliance & Continuous Improvement : Maintain compliance with company policies, Code of Conduct and applicable regulations

What you bring to the role:
- Qualifications: Degree in Engineering or a related field preferred, high school diploma/GED required; US Driver's license, passport and TWIC Card required (if candidate does not already possess, these must be obtained immediately upon hire)
 - Technical Expertise: Minimum of 3-5 years' of experience in similar role providing mechanical, electrical, hydraulics and PLC maintenance & repair of heavy equipment, preferably port and terminal equipment; Knowledge of port & terminal equipment, container handling and crane systems preferred;
 - Safety Commitment: Strong awareness and adherence to safety protocols to ensure a secure work environment for yourself and your colleagues.
