Are you a visionary leader ready to architect the future of global lifting and terminal solutions? We are seeking a Head of Innovation on an interim basis for one year to spearhead Bromma’s global innovation strategy and accelerate the delivery of our next-generation technologies. As a transformational leader, you will be the driving force behind our end-to-end New Product Development (NPD), integrating cutting-edge capabilities like automation, AI, and digitalization.

In this role you will report directly to the President, Bromma and the preferred location is Singapore.

 

What are your key responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Innovation & NPD Leadership: Drive Bromma’s global innovation roadmap and oversee the end-to-end New Product Development (NPD) portfolio, championing agile methodologies to significantly reduce time-to-market.

  • Technology Integration & Validation: Lead the assessment, pilot implementation, and business validation of cutting-edge technologies (such as AI, IoT, and automation) to ensure strong market viability and commercial success.

  • Organizational Transformation: Architect an agile, high-performing R&D operating model by streamlining team structures, removing operational silos, and empowering rapid, cross-functional decision-making.

  • Ecosystem & Partnership Development: Identify, cultivate, and manage strategic partnerships with technology vendors, startups, and research institutions to leverage external insights and future-proof our product portfolio.

  • Product Management Strategy: Design and strategize the product roadmap while managing the existing portfolio in seamless collaboration with Sales, Services, and Operations to meet long-term customer needs.

What you bring to the role:

 

  • Educational Foundation: Master’s degree in a relevant engineering discipline required. An MBA is highly valued. Professional certifications in Agile methodologies (e.g., Certified ScrumMaster, SAFe) and/or Project Management (e.g., PMP) are considered a strong advantage. 

  • Extensive Industry Experience: A minimum of 10–12 years of progressive R&D or NPD experience within industrial manufacturing, heavy machinery, or port automation, including 5–7 years leading cross-functional technical teams.

  • NPD & Agile Mastery: A proven, quantifiable track record of accelerating the NPD lifecycle, bringing complex tech-enabled products (hardware and software) to market, and driving agile organizational transformation.

  • Next-Gen Tech Acumen: Strong practical experience evaluating and integrating advanced technologies (automation, AI, IoT) combined with a solid commercial background in building rigorous business cases and managing sizable R&D budgets.

  • Ecosystem & Team Leadership: Exceptional ability to foster cross-functional collaboration, build strategic external partnerships, and lead distributed, diverse international teams with visionary strategic thinking.
