Purpose of the position
The Country HR Advisor will provide operational HR support for Malaysia. The position will be based in Ipoh, Perak, Malaysia. This is a one year contract position.
Main tasks and responsibilities
Key accountabilities include but are not limited to:
Kalmar Values

● Ensure that HR tools and materials reflect the Company’s values.
● Ensure that the Company’s values are effectively communicated to all employees.
Policies and Procedures
● Assist in developing, reviewing and implementing policies and procedures in line with corporate guidelines and in
compliance with legislation
● Ensure policies and procedures are communicated effectively to all employees
Employee Relations
● Build and maintain harmonious working relationship and environment with employees
● Support and advise line managers on organisational change, staff performance, discipline issues and grievances.
People Training & Development
● Administrative support to training and development programs
● Ensure the training needs analysis and transfer knowledge is in place
Industrial Relations
● Handling misconduct at work place
● Ensure disciplinary actions are taken timely and fair
● Ensure PIP are closely monitored timely and fair
Recruitment and Selection
● Liaison with line managers on the vacancies, selection, interviewing and approval processes
● Continuous strategies to build a pool of talents for future hiring
● Monitoring of subcontractors headcount movement
Payroll Support
● Ensure all variations of employment and all remuneration related matters are administered accurately and on time.
● Review monthly payroll and its payments
● Handle enquiries from employees on payroll discrepancies
General HR Support
● Provide HR subject matter expertise
● Onboarding and offboarding, including the review of employment contracts, induction, training and exit interviews
● Assist in the implementation of HR projects where required
● Proactively gain employee feedback to improve service levels where an issue/project may have an impact to
develop and support the business requirements
Others
● Actively promote Kalmar’s health and safety standards
● Other HR related duties as requested by your Manager
What you’ll need to succeed
Job Requirements:
Education
● Tertiary qualification in HR or a related discipline
Experience & Knowledge
● Demonstrated experience in a similar role
● Strong knowledge of the Malaysian employment legislation, dealing with employee and industrial relations matters
Skills & Competencies
● Strong problem solving, coaching and influencing skills, able to manage stakeholders effectively
● Strong customer focus
● Excellent communication and presentation skills
● Organised and self-motivated
● Strong attention to detail and results oriented
● Experience conducting workplace investigations
● Experience developing and reviewing HR policies and procedures
