Purpose of the job:
This position is responsible for evaluating and developing current or new products to meet specifications. Working with factory personnel, the technical product engineer leader is responsible for the integration of materials, methods, and tools necessary to bring new products and current products to meet safety, quality and market requirements & demands
Key accountabilities:
● Setup, monitor and update Process of Workflow, Job Description, Parental Job Scope,
● Product Care for Product Engineering.
● Evaluate, Approve and Release new component design for Product Improvement, safety, cost, stock, functionality, manufacturability.
● Daily check, update all the change request sheet (Engineering Change Request Sheet).
● Assign & filter change request task accordingly.
● Daily check, update revised, released design and drawing based on all the change requests (Engineering Change Request). Assign & filter change request task accordingly.
● Work together with Cross Functional Sourcing of technical consultation according to designated scope.
● Manage the Parental of Spreaders according to the Parental assigned in Vault.
● Provide alternative or improvement solutions to change requests.
● Follow up and liaise with respective departments to track work progress for all the change requests to ensure change requests will be delivered and meet the technical specification requirements.
● Work with external departments for design resources to ensure quality design, cost and performance.
● Prepare and publish service bulletin internal/external regarding the changes been done with ECR.
● Approve and Release New replacement component for cost down & functionality.
● Establish,consult and evaluate test procedures for quality assurance of finished product.
● QSR related to parental changes (managed in ECR).
● Maintain Product Database in Vault.
● Maintain Professional and Technical Knowledge by attending Education Workshops, reviewing Professional Publications, establishing personal networks. Participating in Professional Society.
Job Requirements:
Education
● Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Experience
● At least 3-5 years work experience (in crane, mechanical gear box and drives)
● Experience in design of container handling equipment (spreaders) etc.
Skills
● 3D CAD modeling preferably in Inventor and knowledge of PDM systems
● Knowledge of GD/T and industrial standards
● Familiar with steel design, welding and design for manufacturing.
● Familiar with basic hydraulics and transmission
● Gear motor knowledge (fundamental of motor & gearbox selection sizing)
● Understanding of basic mechanical std (machinary directives)
● Write professional analytic and technical reports
● CE Compliances for mechanical / structural
● Fluent in spoken and written English
