As our new Project Manager, R&D, you’ll take full ownership of the entire lifecycle of major new product development projects—from early planning and resource coordination to successful production launch. Acting as the central hub of collaboration, you’ll align internal teams and external partners to balance requirements, ensure project feasibility, and deliver on objectives. With your strong engineering background and proven project management expertise, you’ll lead and coach cross-functional teams, driving continuous improvement and strengthening organizational excellence.
What are your key responsibilities:

Overall Project Accountability: Take full responsibility for assigned major R&D projects, managing the entire lifecycle from initial setup and planning through design, testing, introduction to production, and hypercare.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Alignment: Work closely with key internal stakeholders (Product Management, Factory Operations, Sales) and external parties (Partners, Suppliers, Customers) to align expectations, engineering specifications, and input requirements for project success.

Project Viability and Resource Management: Ensure the project's viability and resource availability through "sanity checks," while also managing engineering resources and facilitating cross-organizational collaboration.

Operational & Process Excellence: Devise evaluation strategies to monitor project performance, drive continuous improvements for future projects, and tune the New Product Introduction (NPI) process among all stakeholders.

Empowering and Guiding Project Teams: Lead, coach, and motivate project teams to drive tasks, achieve project goals, meet set productivity targets, manage conflict resolutions, and drive organizational change by building the right team competencies.

What you bring to the role:
-
Education & Experience: A degree in Engineering or a similar field is needed, coupled with 10+ years of general engineering experience. You’re an experienced project manager with a track record of leading R&D or industrial projects and a deep understanding of stage-gate processes.

Industry Background: Preferred experience is from heavy industries such as Marine, Cargo, Offshore, or Construction machinery, especially those with elements of customization of final products.

Technical Knowledge: Broad understanding of multiple technology domains, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems. Proven analytical capability and solid understanding of manufacturing processes, prototyping, testing, and design optimization for manufacturing, cost, and quality.

Leadership and Communication Skills: You communicate clearly and confidently, listen actively, and inspire others through effective leadership, coaching, and conflict resolution—driving both positive change and team stability.

Competencies: Demonstrated ability to work independently and within teams, showing initiative, effective multitasking, and strong collaboration across organizational functions.
