The Director, Automation Support & Services, APAC is responsible for leading a high-performing team that ensures the successful delivery and growth of automation support services in the region. This role focuses on people development, fostering a culture of collaboration, and driving business expansion through service offerings and strong customer relationships. By overseeing financial performance, resource management, and compliance with industry standards, the role ensures operational excellence and sustainable business growth within APAC.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- APAC Automation Support Services team line management, personnel safety, well-being, competence development and utilisation.
- Foster a high-performing, collaborative team culture by promoting open communication, psychological safety, and continuous development.
- Drive overall business development for APAC Automation Support Services, identifying growth opportunities, expanding service offerings, and strengthening customer relationships.
- Represent and host the holistic Kalmar service offering to selected automation customers
- Monthly reporting towards the business.
- Annual orders and sales budget for the profit centres ISS01 and ISS02 for APAC.
- Gross Margin accountability for the APAC profit centre ISS01 and ISS02.
- Timely invoicing for services and accountability for collection.
- Local resource management ensuring effective resource usage and competence availability
- Ensures compliance with standards, industry, contractual obligations, and company regulations, specifications, and best practices.
What you’ll need to succeed
Education
- Bachelor/ Master level degree in Engineering, or
- Bachelor/ Master level degree in Business, or
- Professional body membership and qualification, or
- Equivalent job experience
Experience
- Leadership Experience: 5+ years in a leadership role, with a strong focus on customer engagement, internal stakeholder collaboration, and team building. Capable of setting clear priorities, defining goals, and driving execution in a complex environment.
- Industry Expertise: 5+ years of experience in service business management environment, with involvement in automation deployment and equipment maintenance You should be fully comfortable leading discussions on automation with customers and stakeholders.
- Ability to work and lead in a global matrix organisation combining many different cultures and ways of working.
- Strong Communication & Stakeholder Engagement: Fluent in interacting with all levels of the organization, both internally and externally, fostering collaboration and alignment.
- Comfortable working with people at all levels, both inside and outside the organization, to foster collaboration and alignment.
