Assistant Manager - Solution Sales

Location can be anywhere from South India 

Generate business of container handler equipment from existing customers and develop new customers. Special focus on industrial sales and rental segment development of Forklift to customers on regional basis.

What are your key responsibilities:

 

  • Customer Acquisition & Relationship Management: Drive aggressive market development by visiting and engaging new potential customers to understand their core business requirements. Simultaneously, nurture and strengthen long-term relationships with existing customers to ensure high satisfaction and secure repeat business.

  • Full Sales Cycle Ownership: Take complete charge of the sales process, including identifying and proposing solutions, consulting with the sales support team to prepare detailed offers, managing the negotiation phase, and securing the final order collection.

  • Financial & Administrative Completion: Ensure the timely and accurate completion of post-sale activities, including payment follow-up and the necessary processing of regulatory documentation (e.g., C Forms) through to final order closing.

  • Target Market Penetration: Focus sales efforts on specific, high-potential industrial segments, including Industrial Units, Inland Container Depots (ICDs), Container Freight Stations (CFSs), and steel handling operations at manufacturing sites and nodal depots.

  • Market Intelligence Gathering: Proactively monitor and report on competition activities, market trends, and new business opportunities to keep the organization informed and strategically positioned.

  • Performance Reporting: Maintain clear communication with leadership by preparing and submitting comprehensive weekly and monthly sales reports to the Sales Head, detailing progress, forecasts, and market insights.

What you bring to the role:

 

  • Educational Background: A BE or Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automobile Engineering is required. An MBA is considered a strong asset.

  • Sales Experience: 3-6 years of proven B2B sales experience is necessary, ideally involving industrial, equipment, or heavy equipment sales.

  • Industry Knowledge: Preference will be given to candidates with an understanding of the forklift business or similar materials handling equipment.

  • Professional Acumen: Possess a professional and aggressive approach with a strong drive to develop new markets and acquire customers.

  • Technical & Communication Skills: Requires a good technical and commercial understanding of the products, paired with strong communication skills and fluency in both English and the regional language.

  • Work Ethic & Mobility: The candidate must be an independent problem-solver and a capable team player, with the ability to multitask and an essential willingness to travel frequently and at short notice.
