As an Electrician you will perform maintenance and repairs of automated stacking cranes, Bromma Spreaders, Straddles, yard gate automation systems, and other infrastructure. You will handle corrective and preventative maintenance on both automated and manual container handling equipment, ensuring all work is carried out safely, economically, on time, and to expected client quality standards.

What are your key responsibilities:

  • Maintenance & Repairs: Perform planned and unplanned repairs, refurbishments, and preventative maintenance on container handling equipment in the field and workshop onsite.
  • Electrical Compliance: Ensure all electrical work meets or exceeds Australian Standards, managing High Voltage Isolation and operating safety "Lock out/Tag out" processes.
  • Shift Operations: Be available for rotating shifts in line with the roster pattern, which includes both day and night works.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Accurately complete designated job and service records, Daily Tool Box and crane pre-start inspections, shift logs, and participate in SWMS, take 5’s, and risk assessments.
  • Collaboration & Cleanliness: Liaise with and assist specialist contractors or providers engaged by the business, while maintaining a clean and tidy workspace following 5S principles.

What you bring to the role:

  • Qualifications: You must hold an Unrestricted Australian Electrical License, an Australian car driver’s license, a High-Risk license for Elevated Work Platform (EWP over 11m), and Working at Heights training. (A Forklift operator's license is preferred).
  • Extensive Experience: Extensive post-apprenticeship experience specializing in fault finding, repairs, and PM Service on heavy plant, maritime, industrial cranes, or automated manufacturing environments.
  • Technical Expertise: You possess strong knowledge of PLCs (Siemens TIA portal), Linux, TCP/IP networks, AC & DC Variable Speed Drives, Industrial Electric Motors (up to 800kw), Hydraulic Controls, and Profibus/CANN bus/Profisafe Communications.
  • Safety Commitment: You have experience writing and contributing to JSA and SWMS development, can lift heavy objects in line with OH&S guidelines, are comfortable working at heights, and are in good general physical condition.
  • Team Player: You are a highly motivated, customer-orientated professional with an excellent work ethic, cultural adaptability, and a proactive ability to get things done.
