Are you a natural connector with a passion for collaboration, sustainability, and innovation? Kalmar is looking for an Ecosystem Manager to take a leading role in developing and expanding our Move2Green ecosystem - a core part of our €50M R&D program focused on enabling sustainable cargo handling across Europe.
As an Ecosystem Manager, you will act as the bridge between Kalmar and the wider European research community, driving impactful partnerships, building strong consortia, and ensuring Kalmar remains at the forefront of EU-funded innovation. You’ll lead EU project proposals from concept to execution, helping to shape the future of logistics and green technology on a continental scale.
What are your key responsibilities:

Driving ecosystem growth: Own and track ecosystem KPIs for the Move2Green initiative, including partner engagement, proposal success rates, and research impact.

Consortium building & EU collaboration: Proactively engage with academic, industrial, and governmental stakeholders to form and lead strong EU project consortia.

Proposal leadership: Take charge of developing competitive project proposals for EU funding instruments, including application writing, submission, and follow-up.

Strategic alignment: Ensure ecosystem activities align closely with Kalmar’s research strategy and business goals, maximizing both innovation and relevance.

EU program expertise: Stay up-to-date on relevant EU R&D programs and funding opportunities, advising internal teams and external partners accordingly.

Project execution & reporting: Manage and contribute to approved projects, ensuring timely reporting to EU bodies and stakeholders such as Business Finland.

What you bring to the role:

Academic qualifications: A Master’s degree in Engineering, Business, Industrial Management, IT, or another relevant field.

EU project experience: Hands-on expertise in EU funding programs - from proposal writing and project management to impact reporting.

Strong networker: A proven track record of managing external partnerships, building international networks, and leading complex, multi-stakeholder collaborations.

Project management skills: Solid experience navigating cross-functional, multicultural teams with a focus on results and collaboration.

Language skills: Excellent communication skills in both English and Finnish, written and spoken.

Knowledge of Kalmar’s field: Familiarity with Kalmar’s products, services, or logistics industry trends is an advantage.
