As Manager, Digital Projects and Portfolio, you’ll play a central role in coordinating and driving a wide range of digital initiatives across Kalmar’s divisions, global teams, and functions. You’ll be part of the Kalmar Digital Solutions team within the Strategy, Sustainability, and Technology function, working closely with colleagues across the business to turn digitalization needs into well-structured, impactful projects.

 

This role offers a unique opportunity to collaborate across functions, influence the future of our operations, and contribute to how we build, scale, and manage digital innovation across Kalmar.

What are your key responsibilities:

 

Project Portfolio Management: Organize and oversee the full lifecycle of digital projects, programs, and portfolios - ensuring visibility, alignment, and performance at all stages.

Strategic Project Leadership: Plan, initiate, and lead strategically prioritized projects, collaborating with internal and external teams across functions and geographies.

Fit-for-Purpose Execution Models: Drive effective planning and initiation of cross-team initiatives, selecting and guiding the best execution models for each context.

Stakeholder Engagement & Discovery: Collaborate with product divisions and functions to uncover digitalization needs and translate them into actionable, impactful projects.

Capability & Process Development: Improve ways of working across the Kalmar Digitalization team by advancing project practices and supporting the development of team competencies.

Communication & Advisory Role: Champion strong collaboration, provide guidance on portfolio governance, and advise on continuous improvement in project and program delivery.

What you bring to the role:

 

Educational & Technical Foundation: You hold a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in science, engineering, or a related technical field - or equivalent hands-on experience in engineering or technical environments.

Proven Project Leadership Experience: You bring several years of experience managing complex digital or technical projects, programs, or portfolios, ideally within industrial or engineering-focused organizations.

Execution Model Expertise: You have deep knowledge of project and execution methodologies, including Agile, Lean, and traditional models, and can apply them effectively across diverse initiatives.

Cross-Functional Communication Skills: You’re a strong communicator who thrives in cross-functional settings - able to present confidently to senior stakeholders and collaborate seamlessly with teams at all levels.

Analytical & Digital Skills: With strong problem-solving abilities and a solid grasp of data-driven thinking, you understand how to leverage data, particularly in areas like industrial IoT and machine control systems.
