Sales Development Specialist

The Sales Development Specialist works closely with our regional sales teams and dealers on the value proposition to our customers. The Sales Development Specialist brings technical and commercial experience and skills to the team as well as a business mind set and an eagerness to develop our sales targets.
The Sales Development Specialist secures knowhow of options, products and solutions and supports the process of creating customer commitment by establishing and following up roadmaps for the region, including market reviews. The Sales Development Specialist is responsible for safeguarding the profit level and to take strategic decisions in line with the Kalmar development plan.
The Sales Development Specialist plays a key role in the sales management process and is the key contact for the regional sales team and dealers on any technical or commercial question within the sales process. The Sales Development Specialist works closely with sales development lead, division global sales head, region’s sales organisation and sales representatives, including dealer representatives, engineering and production personnel to offer best technical and commercial solutions for specific applications and customer needs.
The main products to work with are: Forklifts, Reachstackers and Empty Container Handlers.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Enable the front line to achieve their business targets
- Support the front line on new equipment sales, both technically and commercially
- Support the front line with expert knowledge on product applications and make recommendations
- Support sales development to find white spots for new business as well as securing a profitable growth in each market
- Responsibility for dealer development and training within your region
- Participate in monthly and annual sales planning and forecasting at the sales area
- Take responsibility for the development of common tools and systems, technical specifications and price calculation tools to support conceptual sales
- Participate in development of marketing and sales programs including launching of new products
- Collaboration with Regions Process improvement support for sales and pricing
- Establish annual, quarterly, monthly, or weekly sales plans and prioritize and schedule own activities so these targets are met
- Host customer events at Ljungby innovation center.
What you’ll need to succeed
Education:
- University degree, M.Sc. is preferred or equivalent experience in engineering and sales.
Experience:
- Previous experience with forklift and/or reachstacker business is preferred
- Good Technical understanding of heavy mobile equipment
- Working with and supporting electrical driven equipment is an advantage
- Counterbalance product knowledge is preferred
- Automation experience is an advantage
- Sales support, sales and market region know how is an advantage
- Good business skills.
Competencies
- Excellent communications skills and the ability to communicate with individuals and/or groups in international projects
- Fluent in English both in speaking and writing
- Additional language skills is an advantage
- Ability to do independent work as well as teamwork
- Great accuracy and well structured
- Customer focused and experience and/or interest in multicultural business environment
- Capabilities for cross functional work
- Ability to focus in a global environment.
Travelling:
- International travelling is required
