Technical Project Engineer

We are looking for a Project Lead – R&D Development to join Kalmar’s Counterbalanced Division. You will lead assigned projects and R&D activities, ensuring customer needs, legislation, and internal requirements are met in line with our business strategies.

What are your key responsibilities:

 

  • Project Leadership & Delivery: Lead and manage end-to-end design engineering and R&D projects, ensuring goals, timelines, and deliverables are met in alignment with business and technical objectives.

  • Design Integration & Stakeholder Collaboration: Coordinate cross-functional teams and liaise with key stakeholders to define design specifications, ensuring smooth technical integration and alignment across all functions.

  • Technology & Feasibility Management: Analyze technology trends, market demand, and resource needs to assess project feasibility and drive efficient planning and execution.

  • Process Development & Quality Assurance: Develop, implement, and uphold engineering standards, processes, and procedures that ensure product safety, regulatory compliance, and consistent quality.

  • Testing & Verification Oversight: In partnership with the Principal System Engineer, initiate, monitor, and evaluate testing activities to verify and validate product design performance.

  • Reporting & Continuous Improvement: Report regularly on project outcomes, progress, and deviations to leadership, driving lessons learned and continuous improvement across the design organization.

What you bring to the role:

 

Education & Experience:

  • University degree in a relevant engineering field, or equivalent experience.

  • Proven experience in product development and design engineering.

  • Experience in project management and engineering tools used at Kalmar is an advantage.

  • Solid technical knowledge of mobile equipment or similar rubber-tyre vehicle types.

  • Strong planning, coordination, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to motivate teams.

  • Problem-solving orientation with a proactive and positive attitude.
