Compensation Data
• Base Salary: $60-65k per year
• Eligible for Annual Bonus
• Eligible for annual salary review/increase
Purpose of the position
Kalmar USA is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team based in Ottawa, KS.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Equipment Accounting: Oversee invoicing, depreciation, obsolescence, etc.
- Prepare monthly Reports (Budget, General Ledger, Forecast, analysis)
- Research open accounting issues
- Collaborate with KBS (shared services team) regarding journal entries to record transactions to the general ledger
- Analyze accounting variances and prepare variance explanation reports
- Analyze unrecorded assets and liabilities
- Business partnering with management
- Analyze assets and liabilities
- Oversee equipment invoicing process (Terminal Tractors, Counterbalance, Horizontal)
- Manage fixed assets and equipment stock inventories
What you’ll need to succeed
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum 2 years’ accounting experience in budgeting, general accounting, and closing of books
- Preference given to candidates with financial analysis experience
Competencies:
- Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Experience using financial reporting software- preferably Hyperion
- Working knowledge of ERP systems- preferably SAP and/or LN
- Experience working with a global organization
- Cross functional collaboration
