Field Service Engineer

Bromma division is seeking for a Field Service Engineer that will support our Latin America & Caribbean customer base. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing hands-on technical support for Bromma equipment in the Latin America & Caribbean region.

 

As part of the Bromma team, you will be working within a customer centric organization that is focused on always exceeding the expectations of our customers. You will regularly work, and communicate with our Americas Sales organization, Engineering teams, and Product Support specialist to resolve customer problems and communicate their individual needs back to the organization. You will also work with our other offices and teams from around the globe.

 

This position will be based out of our office in Santiago, Chile. The office in Durham, North Carolina is our base of operations for our Americas team. We also have supporting locations for the region in Miami, FL, Ottawa, KS, and Charleston, SC.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Start-up and commissioning of new equipment;
  • Organizing and coordinating field projects;
  • Carry out theoretical and practical training on the customer's premises to teach them how to operate, maintain and troubleshoot the equipment; 
  • Prepare comprehensive and detailed service reports for each site visit;
  • Maintain active communication with customers to troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems and offer customized solutions;
  • Installing software updates and making the necessary programming changes;
  • Report functional or design problems identified in field operations to internal areas;
  • Passing on information about customer needs and problems to our sales group and product line;
  • Assist in processing warranty claims; 
  • Providing support to the Logistics Department, reviewing documentation for the delivery of parts to customers;
  • Perform other related after-sales tasks as assigned, such as customer visits; 
  • Carry out travel logistics, including hotel and flight reservations, as well as car rental. 

What you’ll need to succeed

Education:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field  or related field

 

Experience:
5+ years' experience of relevant business / product experience with background in the following disciplines/systems: Electronic / Electrical, Mechanical, Hydraulic, PLC’s
Candidates with maintenance and troubleshooting experience in Port and Terminal container handling equipment (Spreaders, Straddle carriers, Front-end loaders, Reach Stackers, RTG/RMG/STS cranes, etc.) will be strongly considered.
Software programming experience is a plus.
 

Competencies:

  • Ability to use Google Suite

  • Native/Advanced in English

  • Native/ Advanced in Spanish

  • Ability to do independent work as well as teamwork

  • Willingness to travel extensively.

  • Strong Relationship building mentality
