As an Apprentice Field Service Engineer, you’ll handle maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on Kalmar and third-party equipment, ensuring peak performance through inspections and routine upkeep. You’ll provide exceptional customer service with detailed reports and technical advice, making a real impact while maintaining a safe work environment.

What you bring to the role:
- Minimum Age of 18: Due to customer location requirements, you’ll need to be at least 18 years old, when you start work, to apply.
- Comfortable Working at Heights: You’ll need to be comfortable with working at heights, and be prepared to undergo a height test as part of the recruitment process.
- Full Driving Licence: A valid full driving licence is required to get you where you need to be!
- Location: You’ll need to live within 1 hour of South Yorkshire/Derbyshire Area.
- Excellent IT and Analytical Skills: At Kalmar, working with computers and various software packages is part of our everyday operations.
- Maths and English qualifications: If you haven’t yet completed your English and Maths GCSEs, don’t worry! You’ll have the opportunity to complete your Level 2 Functional Skills qualification before the end of your apprenticeship.
- Self-Motivated & Enthusiastic: You’re passionate about engineering, driven, and bring a flexible, enthusiastic attitude to everything you do, so you’ll need to have strong IT literacy and excellent analytical skills to thrive in this role.
- Will to Learn & Succeed: Eager to grow, develop, and succeed in the role.
- Willingness to Travel: Flexibility to travel and stay away from home, in hotels, as part of the job.
- Craft/Tool Skills: Got a natural flair for hands-on work? We’d love to hear about it!
- Prior Practical Skills or Hobbies: Whether it’s fixing things or creating projects, any prior experience is a bonus.
