We at Kalmar are looking for a Senior Accountant, who will be responsible for supporting selected processes and countries, which includes accounting, coordination of month-end general ledger close, and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
Main tasks and responsibilities
- Responsible for supporting accounting services for selected processes and countries, including accounting for and coordinating the month-end general ledger close, and preparing balance sheet reconciliations.
- Work independently with minimal supervision within a designated business or region.
- Take the initiative and provide support for multiple roles in the Record-to-Report area.
- Act as the primary point of contact for selected partners and/or processes.
- Responsible for financial reporting operational activities.
- Participate in and identify process improvement projects.
- Participate in or lead cross-training for associates and new team members.
- Handle ad-hoc requests in a timely manner.
- Follow internal control procedures and all accounting policies in accordance with internal control framework.
- Ensure error-free processes.
- Effectively manage complex situations, including unusual accounting treatments and stakeholder management.
- Demonstrate professional behavior and accountability.
- Build supportive relationships with peers and colleagues.
- The role has controlling and reporting responsibilities over all processes in the end-to-end accounting cycle: OTC, ITP, HR activities, and how they are reflected and accounted for in the books.
- The role executes ongoing control over the accounting activities in the respective ledger for which it is responsible.
What you’ll need to succeed
- Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in finance operations
- Experience working in a Shared Services environment
- Experience in handling complex queries
- Proficient in MS Office and ERP systems
- End-to-end process knowledge in Record-to-Report (RTR)
- Strong team player
- Problem-solving attitude
- Strong analytical skills
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to take initiative in a proactive manner to improve individual and team work practices
- Proficiency in written and oral English
