Logistics Development Engineer

You will join the team responsible for developing and optimizing Kalmar’s global logistics ecosystem. Your mission is to standardize best practices, improve inbound transportation flows, increase truck utilization, and drive cost-efficient logistics solutions.
This is a hybrid role, 3 days in the office / 2 remote or 2 in the office / 3 remote.

What are your key responsibilities:

• Analyse and optimize global logistics processes with a focus on inbound flows.

• Standardize and implement logistics and transportation best practices.

• Improve inbound volume streamlining, incoming load structure, consolidation levels and packing efficiency.

• Tackle operational issues directly — hands-on problem solving.

• Use data insights to recommend cost-reduction actions.

• Lead logistics improvement initiatives, including packaging and load utilization optimization.

• Collaborate with global and local teams to increase logistics efficiency.

• Achieving cost-saving targets in logistics.

• Noticeable reduction of logistics spend and improved inbound flow efficiency.

• Increased standardization across processes.

What you bring to the role:

Must-have

• At least 5 years of experience in logistics or transportation companies.

• Higher education in logistics or related fields.

• Strong understanding of inbound transportation flows.

• Working knowledge of Incoterms.

• Experience in project management.

• Strong analytical skills and ability to draw conclusions from data.

• Experience with: SAP, WMS, TMS.

Nice-to-have

• Experience in packaging optimization and transportation consolidation.

• Exposure to global logistics environments.
