Are you passionate about electrical system design and want to make a real impact on the machines that move the world? Join us as a Design Engineer – Electrical Systems and play a key role in developing safe, efficient, and innovative electrical systems for straddle carriers.
As a Design Engineer, you will be at the core of our product development, responsible for designing and integrating electrical systems that meet both technical and regulatory demands. You’ll collaborate across disciplines and support the full engineering lifecycle - from concept through to commissioning.
The role is based in Tampere, Finland.
What are your key responsibilities:
- Electrical Design & Development: Design and update detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts for high-performance straddle carriers.
- Cross-Disciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with mechanical, automation, and software engineering teams to ensure electrical systems are fully integrated with machine functions.
- Data & Documentation Management: Utilize our Product Data Management (PDM) system, Sovelia, to manage version-controlled design documents, BOMs, and wiring diagrams - ensuring accuracy at every step.
- Component Selection & Specification: Source and specify electrical components that align with industry standards and project requirements across global markets.
- Technical Documentation: Create and maintain high-quality technical documentation, including cable lists, BOMs, and detailed manufacturing and installation guides.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all designs adhere to international electrical and safety regulations (e.g., IEC, EN 60204, UL).
- Support & Troubleshooting: Assist manufacturing, commissioning, and service teams by resolving electrical issues and providing on-site or remote support when needed.

What you bring to the role:
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Engineering Experience: Hands-on experience with electrical CAD systems (e.g. Zuken E3, EPLAN) and a proven track record in electrical design - preferably in heavy machinery, material handling, or industrial automation.
- Global Mindset: Experience with international projects and field work is a strong advantage.
- Familiarity with relevant standards: (e.g. EN 60204) and basic knowledge of PLC systems, fieldbuses, drives, and motion control.
- Problem Solving & Independence: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a dynamic environment.
