Sales Development Lead

We are looking for a highly motivated Sales Project Leader to join our Horizontal Transportation (HT) division in Kalmar. 

 

In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of our straddle carrier sales projects, guiding customers through pre-sales consultations, particularly on critical topics like electrification and automation. You'll be instrumental in shaping compelling proposals and skillfully negotiating contracts, working closely with our frontline teams and other internal stakeholders. Once the deal is secured, you'll ensure a seamless handover to our project delivery organization, setting the stage for successful implementation.

 

Beyond leading individual projects, you'll also take on the crucial role of Sales Development Lead for the Europe region. Here, you'll be responsible for cultivating and driving the HT business, collaborating closely with our frontline units and regional management to identify and capitalize on new opportunities. Your accountability will extend to reporting monthly results directly to the Kalmar Leadership Team, providing key insights into the region's performance.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

Sales Project Leader

  • Collaborate on pre-sales with Terminal Design Services and the frontline

  • Develop proposals following internal processes

  • Manage internal authorizations for proposals and contracts per Kalmar guidelines

  • Provide input for sales case decisions

  • Lead negotiations for technical, legal, and commercial contracts

  • Partner with frontline and key account management for successful outcomes

  • Ensure seamless project handover to the delivery team after winning a deal.

 

Sales Development Lead

  • Drive HT growth in the region

  • Serve as a member of the Region Leadership team

  • Secure HT order intake and profitability in the region

  • Enhance customer satisfaction in the region

  • Report monthly results to Region and Kalmar leadership teams

  • Lead sales planning for the region

  • Formulate and execute regional strategy

  • Collaborate with marketing.

 

International travel required.

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education

  • University degree, M.Sc. is preferred or equivalent experience in engineering and sales.


Experience

  • Knowledge of material and container handling business is preferred
  • Sales related positions in B2B environment are considered as a bonus.


Competencies

  • Self-driven and customer focused mindset
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills
  • Fluent in English both in speaking and writing
  • Additional languages (French & German especially) skills are of great interest
  • Ability to do independently as well as in a team
  • Working in an international matrix organization
