Trainee, Master Data

We are looking for a Trainee, Master Data to work in our Master Data Management team in Kalmar Services. This position starts in early January and runs until the end of August, offering part-time work during the spring semester and transitioning to full-time hours over the summer. We prefer candidates who can commit to a minimum of two days per week during the spring. 

 

An interesting and challenging position that gives a good opportunity to get insight into the global Kalmar Services business. You learn different IT tools and technical components. You have a chance to improve our performance and customer experience. We offer an excellent induction and training period and will be spending time in the office whenever needed. In the beginning of the traineeship you will focus on beginner level daily activities and there is a possibility to take more responsibility depending on your experience and strengths. Good team spirit within our team, so it will be a fun time to work with us!

 

The role is based in Tampere, Finland.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Create, validate, and maintain spare part master data records
  • Support internal stakeholders by managing daily cases and email queries, ensuring top-tier customer service
  • Enhance business value by enriching item and installed base data
  • Assess and improve data quality and completeness using established metrics
  • Prepare bulk data lists for updates and data enrichment tasks.

What you’ll need to succeed

 

Education:

  • B.Sc. or M.Sc. student in a relevant field (e.g., mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, knowledge management).


Experience:

  • Previous work in operational back-office roles (e.g., industrial purchasing, sales, or engineering) is an advantage.


Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive working style
  • Basic understanding of machinery and the ability to interpret technical drawings/documentation is beneficial
  • Proficiency in IT tools, especially MS Excel and Google Sheets
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Finnish
  • Familiarity with ERP systems is a plus but not required
  • Mindset: Willingness to handle entry-level tasks while being open to taking on more responsibility as skills grow.
